Traditional Skills Training

We provide courses covering the traditional canoe journeying skills like poling, lining, tracking, rafting and sailing.  

You will learn how to select the appropriate skill and to make smooth and slick transitions between different techniques.

These skills are part of the Moderate and Advanced Water Canoe Leader syllabus, so if you aspire to these awards, this course is a great opportunity to lift your 'trad skills' knowledge and abilities to a new level.

Martin will tailor the course to suit your needs and aspirations and can incorporate them into a days journey or an overnight wild camping expedition. 

Camp Craft skills, including use of tarps, bivouvacking, hammocks and open fire and Dutch oven cooking, can also be covered.
